There's very little Starfleet information, species options, or starships in the book, though, since it's focused on Klingons. I'd suggest the Starfleet core, honestly. So the "no backgrounds" and regular files differ in size by about 19MB but they both have a white background. Is something wrong with my download or the files? The no background version removes some of the distressed texture layers to make it a little faster to load.

I do prefer the new rules explanations and the Klingon focus is honorable indeed. One thing that I do not dig at all, though, is how the PDF is put together. I'm GMing but not quite at the level of being able to create my own campaigns I'd love to try out a few pre-written ones first as I get used to playing as Klingons but not sure where to find them.

The book contains a short introductory adventure to get your crew of Klingon warriors started, and the chapter on gamemastering Klingon campaigns provides detailed advice on planning and running a Klingon campaign, and also provides a dozen 1-page mission briefs that can be used as starting points for new missions.
We haven't yet published any Klingon-specific adventures beyond that, though most of the existing adventures for the game could be adapted for use with a Klingon crew.

Eventually I'll be brave enough to create some of my own scenarios but for now, I've appreciated having the step-by-step process to ease us into it. I would love to see more of those - especially Klingon ones to help us get started!
You'll see Klingon standalone adventures eventually, as well as more on the Shackleton Expanse. Same feeling here. Nowadays I only buy RPGs that come with complete campaigns. So once there is a full campaign out, my interest will be much higher, star trek adventures core rulebook pdf free download.
Does the reputation and advancement rules are for Klingons only or should they be used for Federation also? There is a small file that tells how to use the revised reputation rules with Starfleet characters. The rules are optional for Starfleet; each gamemaster or group would decide whether to use them or not. Is it possible to have this file without buying the PDF. The point is that I'm only interested on the revised rules, not the new contents on top of the rules The advancement and reputation rules in the Klingon book are alternative rules to those presented in the Starfleet core rulebook, not replacements. There are no current plans to provide the alternative advancement and reputation rules by themselves.
